Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Kinnect Scholars Program?

The Kinnect Scholars Program was started in 2022 to provide high school students access to college and career pathways into the fashion industry from design to entrepreneurship and everything in between! Kinnect scholars commit to being part of a 2-year program from 10th-12th grade during which they receive an industry professional as their mentor, participate in college and career workshops, and are eligible for job internships and college scholarships.

How do I apply to be a Kinnect Scholar?

In order to be a Kinnect Scholar, you must be nominated by staff at one of our partner schools. The Kinnect Foundation does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, military status, or any other restricting classification in its selection of scholars.

How does my school become a partner school?

Encourage a staff member or the administration of your school to reach out to us so we can determine eligibility. The Kinnect Foundation is passionate about uplifting high school students by providing access to higher education and creating pathways into the fashion industry. We are dedicated to transforming futures and unlocking the potential of imaginative students.

Is my donation tax deductible?

The Kinnect Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and donations are tax-deductible, to the extent of the law, for the year in which the donation was made.

What types of organizations do you fund through your Community Impact program?

Our grant recipients will spread over a range of focus and service areas. We are excited to hear about organizations that, if empowered with our funding, would be taking a huge step forward to advance their mission and that the funding would have a dramatic effect on the lives of an underserved population.
